About

A common native plant in Hong Kong, Pond Spice is often found along forest edges, stream banks and in shrublands. It is a host plant for butterflies such as the Common Bluebottle, Common Mime and Tawny Rajah. Pond Spice's wood is yellowish brown, sturdy and resistant to rot. Due to its slimy, glue-like sap, it is called Slimy Tree and Glutinous Camphor Tree in Chinese.
