About

The mangrove associate Sea Hibiscus is an integral part of the mangrove ecosystem. This tree grows on the backshore, situated between true mangroves and the land. Although not submerged by seawater, it protects the shore from strong waves, helping to maintain the structural integrity of the coast. In urban areas, Sea Hibiscus is sometimes planted along the banks of river channels.
